From January 13th to 16th, the Italian Trade Agency (ITA) headed to San Francisco to support a delegation of Italian companies operating in the biotech and life science sectors during their participation in the 38th Annual JP Morgan Healthcare Conference. The initiative remains the largest and most informative healthcare investment symposium in the industry, bringing together industry leaders, emerging fast-growth companies, innovative technology creators, and members of the investment community.

Held in connection with the J.P. Morgan Healthcare Conference, on January 15th, 2020 starting at 6pm at the Four Seasons Hotel in San Francisco, the Agency hosted the fourth edition of its country symposium entitled "Healthcare: Italy on the move".

The symposium featured noted panelists from both Italy and the international biotech and life science communities, and provided a perfect opportunity to showcase the impressive achievements and growth potential of Italian companies, institutions, associations, research centers and regional clusters operating in these sectors, illustrating the potential that lays in the exceptional research capabilities of Italian researchers and the academic institutions behind their efforts.

A networking event followed immediately after the symposium for those international investors and others in attendance to engage directly with Italian companies and entities allowing them to network and explore partnership and investment opportunities.

For promoting Italy's presence at this prestigious conference, the Agency collaborated with the two leading Italian associations representing the biotech and life science sectors - Assobiotec and Farmindustria, with onsite coordination conducted by the Agency’s office of Los Angeles and its Foreign Direct Investment Desks in both San Francisco and New York.

Copies of the official catalog featuring the profiles of 43 leading Italian companies and 10 regional clusters representing the Italian offer for the biotech and life science sectors may be requested directly by contacting the Los Angeles Office of the Agency. A unique feature of the catalog is its content allowing for interested investors and partners to review potential Italian opportunities via a "pitch format".

Italy is one of the leading countries as far as being a provider of opportunities for investment in the life sciences sector, offering the ideal business environment to conduct research and development activities, building strategic partnerships, financing startups, and much more.
